One New Change has been designed to minimise energy consumption and carbon emissions using a combination of innovative and proven technologies without compromising the building’s flexibility and adaptability to cater for a wide range of occupiers requirements both now and in the future.
The challenge of meeting minimum 10% renewable energy contribution stipulated by the City planning requirements has been met by an extensive Ground Source Energy System. The system uses 189 closed loop energy piles and 2 open loop bore holes in conjunction with high efficiency heat pumps to provide low carbon heating and cooling for the building.
The combination of these carbon reduction initiatives and other sustainability measures, including a car free environment, extensive cyclist provisions for the office users, rainwater harvesting and green roof areas (recognised by the Excellent BREEAM ratings for the office) will we hope ensure that One New Change sets the standard for others to follow for many years to come.
