Sidell Gibson Architects believe that each building should respond to its location not only architecturally, but also in terms of its environmental performance. We make every effort to ensure that our buildings are as sustainable in their use and construction as possible, and our numerous ‘Very Good’ and ‘Excellent’ BREEAM ratings attest to this commitment.
Our approach takes account of the following three areas of concern;
- Minimising the energy used by the building during both its construction and use through means of building form, orientation and construction
- The use of technologies both to minimise the consumption of water and energy, and where possible to generate that energy on site in a non-polluting way
- Carefully selecting the materials used to build it, to minimise pollution created by their manufacture and transportation, and to minimise waste.
Our current projects range from the design of a ‘Zero Energy Development’ of 1000 dwellings in Ashford, to the design of a single private house which aims to generate all of its energy on site.
Sidell GIbson Architects are proud members of the UK Green Building Council, The Green Register and the Association of Environment Conscious Builders.
