Su Rogers BSc

 

Su Rogers was educated at the London School of Economics, and Yale School of Architecture, graduating in 1961.

 

In 1963 she founded Team 4 with Richard Rogers and Norman Foster undertaking notable projects. She became a partner in Piano + Rogers Architects in 1970, working on the preliminary designs for the Pompidou Centre in Paris. In 1986 she joined Colquhoun, Miller + Partners as a partner, which subsequently became John Miller + Partners Architects. Since this time she has taken a key role in the practice, with responsibility for the realisation of various large, complex and high profile projects such as the Tate Gallery Centenary Development, the Playfair Project for the National Galleries of Scotland, and the Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge.

 

Academic appointments include the Architectural Association School of Architecture where she was a unit master from 1972 to 1977 and the Royal College of Art, School of Environmental design where she was tutor and Director of the Project Office from 1976 to 1986. She has been visiting critic at Columbia University, New York, the Universities of Cambridge, Cardiff, Bristol, Bath, Dublin and Toronto. She has acted as external Examiner for the Schools of Architecture in Manchester, Plymouth and Liverpool.
