Geoff Barrett RIBA

 

Geoff joined Crouch Butler Architects in Birmingham during the early seventies property boom and was soon promoted to Partner.  Early project experience included complex central London developments and in 1980 he established Crouch Butler’s London office.  He currently divides his time between both offices ensuring close liaison over the spread of work and in the growing joint venture with Sidell Gibson. Working across all commercial sectors Geoff’s recent project experience includes The competition winning master plan for Edgbaston Mill, a 10-acre key project within the Calthorpe Estate, Birmingham, and leading Cordwell Property’s design team for the commercial and public realm segments.

 

Master planning the Opus 9 regeneration scheme at Wednesbury, West Midlands, involving the complex land assembly of a 30-acre site, new road/rail infrastructure agreements and gap funding grant application submissions, and the subsequent design of B8 warehouse and hotel elements.

 

Design team leader for a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ office development in Oldbury.

 

Design of HQ offices and new 15,000m² principal manufacturing plant in Sheffield for Spear & Jackson International plc including space planning and occupational fit-out.

 

Project leader for the Crouch Butler Sidell Gibson master plan design of a 40 acre island site adjacent to the 2012 Olympic Park in Newham, East London, on behalf of a consortium of private landowners.
